• Wondrous Weight Loss: Water You Saying??

Finally, we have something that we can call summer weather! That’s a great thing until we start thinking about the fact that wearing fewer clothes might make you more self-conscious about some of that winter weight you could be carrying.

It’s absolutely important to get out and exercise more and eat healthfully, but what if I could share a tip with you that will help with your weight management (and it might not be what you think)?

Did you know that if you simply drink more water you can have wondrous weight management? I have four reasons why:

#1: Juice and Soda have LOTS of Calories!

sodas-are-loaded-with-sugarThe first reason of course is that the juice and the sodas that you might normally drink have a lot of extra calories. One hundred fifty calories or more per can of juice or soda!

Now if you were to replace just two of those every day with a tall, cool glass of the water, within two weeks you’d be down a pound.

Now think about if you replaced all of those sugary beverages with water? That’s a big step in the right direction if you’re trying to lose weight.

#2: A Weak Thirst Mechanism Means We Eat When We’re Thirsty

The second reason why we need to drink more water is an interesting one. Our thirst mechanism mechanism is so depressed in most North Americans that we mistake thirst for hunger, and we eat.

So if you start drinking more water there’s a good chance you going to have less of the hunger pangs which means you’re going to be eating less of the extra calories you don’t need.

Drink more water, eat fewer calories – the obvious result is weight loss.

#3: Water is an Appetite Suppressant

water-zero-caloriesThe third reason is that water can actually be an appetite suppressant.

When you’re trying to lose weight, rather than eating those calories that you know you don’t need, sip on another glass of water instead.

This way you are actually going to stop the hunger pangs from occurring.

In a University of Washington study, a glass of water actually eliminated hunger pangs a hundred percent in those students who had those midnight snack cravings.

#4: Your Metabolism Slows Down When You Are Dehydrated

And of course when we’re not drinking enough water, when we are dehydrated, our metabolism actually slows down. You’re going to burn less calories just hanging about.

If you can drink more water – especially in the summertime when heat is going to help you be dehydrated – you will increase your metabolism and decrease your weight.

#5: An Extra Bonus to Drinking More Water

beer-and-weight-loss-dietI’ve listed four reasons why drinking more water will help you lose weight, and I actually have a fifth:

If you’re having water throughout the week, you will be able to justify having the beer at the end of the week. Get my meaning?

Reward yourself for your efforts at losing weight with a glass of your favorite beer. You’ve earned it!

Water for wondrous weight management is just one more way for you to get energy now and to be able to enjoy your summer!
